The Ranuzzi-Segni “Abetaia” refuge is located at 930 m above sea level. not far from the center of Castiglione dei Pepoli. Since 2018 it has been managed by the C.A.I. Section. of Bologna, present on site with the Subsection of Castiglione dei Pepoli. The refuge offers a bivouac on the ground floor that is always accessible, with a fireplace and two concrete tables. On the first floor, however, we find many services, ideal for four people: Upon entering the building you will immediately find a large wooden table with benches, chairs and stools, a fridge/freezer, a fireplace and a kitchenette with an electric hob (not induction, so any pans/pots will do), a small boiler for hot water from the sink and a varied supply of foods and spices, to be used in case of need, also a large supply of plates, glasses, cutlery, pots , pans and other cooking tools, there is also a microwave. Moving to the left we find the other two rooms, a bedroom, with two bunk beds equipped with mattresses, mattress covers, pillows and blankets and a bathroom, with all the necessary fixtures, toilet, bidet, sink and shower! All powered by a 1000 liter hot water boiler.

 

ATTENTION The water used in the refuge and present in the pipes comes from an UNCONTROLLED natural source, therefore if you have run out of drinking water, you will always find a supply of natural bottled water under the hob. To use the first floor it is necessary to book on the website www.caibrasimone.it by selecting "RESERVATIONS" under the "REFUGE" heading and follow all the instructions that will arrive via email as soon as we process your request.
